About US E2 Visa

The US E2 Business Investor Visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows individuals from certain countries to enter and work in the United States based on their investment in a US business. To qualify, applicants must be citizens of a treaty country, make a substantial investment in a US enterprise, and be actively involved in the development and direction of the business. The visa is typically granted for a renewable period of up to five years, and it offers flexibility for investors to operate and expand their business in the US. However, it does not provide a direct path to permanent residency or citizenship.

Benefits

-Ability to travel freely to and from the United States.

-Unlimited renewals, potentially for the rest of an applicant’s life.

-No caps or quotas for E2 Visa, but you must be a citizen of a treaty country.

-Ability for a spouse to work in the US for any employer.

-Option to purchase a business or business franchise.

-No minimum number of jobs to be created.

-Quick processing times. Application is made directly at the consulate (E visa application
is made directly at a US consulate. USCIS and DHS are not involved in the initial adjudication of an E visa. This gives E2 visas a significant advantage in terms of processing time).

-Potential tax benefits over permanent residents and citizens.

-Possibility to switch to a Green Card status at a later stage, subject to fulfilling the conditions.

Options

The E2 Visa is a fantastic opportunity for foreign investors who wish to start or purchase a business in the United States. Additionally, the visa is renewable, and there is no limit to the number of times you can renew it. This makes it an excellent long-term option for those looking to expand their business in the US. An E2 investor needs to have invested a “substantial” amount of capital in relation to the overall size of the business. An investment of US$100,000 is the minimum recommended investment amount. The E2 applicant will need to prove to a consular officer that they meet each of the E2 visa requirements. The easiest way to document this is through a minimum of 50% ownership of the E2 Business but alternatives do exist.
